Recalculating

by Rey Torres - L3V17e

One of the best investments I was able to make in recent years was the purchase of a Navigation System for my vehicle. I tell you, if you want God to minister to you, you must get one lol. I mean it!

The Navigation System is a nice little gadget and helps me quite a bit considering my vision impairment. Looking for the nearest gas station, food, park, or address is just at a touch and input of a finger. What is neat about the gadget is that it works with a Global Positioning System better known as GPS . In other words, you have no need to place your present location; the GPS locates your existing position globally and calculates the best direction to your final destination.

This weekend I went to CT to see my loved ones and I missed my exit in the highway. It was not intentional, but nevertheless as I was distracted, I missed my delineated path. Worthy to mention, the device did not curse at me, tells me how dumb I was or how inconsiderate I was; the system automatically started "recalculating" how I was to get back to my final destination. Amazingly, it does not matter how many wrong turns I took, the device simply recalculated how I could get to my final destination.

God is indeed much better than a man-made device or a global positioning system and being under his wonderful care it is worthy to be examined. I for one can speak of being distracted and even reckless on missing my exit of a predetermined path in Christ. There is no doubt in my mind that the initial path traced out was the best path I should have taken and that much I missed and wasted by the fact that I went the wrong way. God however, did not ask me to go back where I made my mistake. Instead, He "recalculates" my path wherever I am standing in my life and traces the new direction which ultimately reaches the final destination . . . Christ himself.

As Christians, we do not wake up in the morning saying, "Guess what, today I'm going to SIN". Such is not the heart of someone that serves God but reality dictates that as humans we do fail God and we do miss our exits and deviate from the delineated preestablished path.

Brothers and sisters, if you have missed your exit or gone the wrong path, and you love God and your relationship with Him, be not dismayed any longer . . . he has not cursed at you, or said how dumb you were and He is not even asking you to go back to the original position where you deviated to start all over again. He is simply "recalculating" as you read . . . recalculating your heart, recalculating your steps, recalculating your life and tracing your NEW path to the SAME destination . . . Jesus Christ.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."
